“I’m a caterer and I love food because it brings back childhood memories. Both of my parents were Holocaust survivors. Because they’re from Czechoslovakia (I’m from Czechoslovakia too), which was invaded by the Hungarians, the Germans, and the Russians, my parents ended up speaking thirteen languages and cooking in thirteen languages, so they cooked everything! I guess that’s where I first got my curiosity about food and my love for food.”
“What’s it like for you when you eat the food that brings you back to your childhood?”
“It makes me feel comfortable and safe. Just for that moment, when you’re eating, it’s like nothing else matters.”
