“My great-grandfather escaped the war and came to Canada in 1938. He brought with him an engineering degree from the University of Vienna, but couldn’t speak English or French. Within twenty years of his immigration, he was chosen to help design and build the dome for Saint Joseph’s Oratory. I can see the dome from almost anywhere north of downtown. It helps remind me that no goal or dream is ever out of reach.”
