“It’s a difficult choice to make when you see everyone around you taking the academic route. I’m not an academic. I’m an artist. To go to my parents and say “I want to be an artist” was difficult. It’s not your typical job or your typical Jewish career path. Its not easy. Van Gogh cut off his ear for a reason! You’re alone a lot of the time and it’s a constant mental game. But, if I can wake up everyday and do what I love to do, then that’s ideal and I’ll keep doing it until I can’t anymore. It’s difficult to stay motivated when you’re in a lull, but that’s the life of any artist. When in doubt, just keep painting.”
