“The JEM workshop has in fact become a critical aspect of my life. I spend an enormous amount of hours here and/or thinking about the workshop. It’s more than just a job and more than just a location. It’s almost a way of life for me. Sometimes my wife wonders if I’m married to the workshop or if I’m married to her.”
“How has it shaped you personally over the years?”
“I’ve lost hair and the ones that I have are grayer! I hope that by working with and for the employees, that I have become a better person for it – contributing to their well-being and commitment to themselves. It makes me feel like I’m helping them on a life journey. My job is not to be with them all the time, but my greatest joy is to be with them all the time. They make me laugh; they make me cry. I love interacting with the workers themselves. I believe very strongly in Tzedakah and the workshop exihibits the highest form of Tzedakah.”
