“What are some of your favourite things about your mother?”
“You’re going to make me cry! She’s spectacular in every way — she’s brilliant, she’s sexy, she’s passionate, she’s kind, she’s giving, she’s basically the overall package of what a mom should be, in my opinion.”
“And what are some of your favourite things about your daughter?”
“Her strength, her strength of character, her sense of humour, her smile, her power… She’s kind… she’s generous… I think I did a good job.”
“You’re making me cry!”
“But it’s a good thing… we’re crying because of joy, not sorrow.”
“It’s an overwhelming feeling for us. It’s not the same mother-daughter dynamic. It’s a closer relationship where we’re women now. We’re almost on the same platform. We share things differently and we can talk about things with each other differently. We have a good understanding of each other — she knows my strengths, I know hers. It’s an understanding you get once you get older.”
