“Growing up, I didn’t have a strong Jewish identity, but when I went to Jewish summer camp that changed. I gained a greater understanding of Shabbat: it was about family, unity, and people coming together for a special time. In the beginning, it was a foreign concept to me, but after spending many summers at camp, this became my foundation and my connection to the Jewish community. This experience helped me to develop friendships, connections, and community, the benefits of which still impact me today.”
Last summer, 1009 children benefited from a Jewish summer camp experience through Federation CJA subsidies, incentives and access grants.
